Suspensions

Based on packaging, weight and tuneability considerations, we opted for a dual unequal length a-arm configuration at each wheel, with inboard mounted coil-over dampers.

Elka Suspension dampers actuated by rockers are used at each corner. At the front, pullrod suspension is used for packaging reasons, as the suspension is under the pilot's legs, and to lower the center of gravity. At the rear, pushrods are used for packaging reasons.

Carbon Fiber Wheels In order to reduce unsprung weight, we chose to use 13" modular carbon fiber wheels. To ensure proper stiffness and strength properties, finite element analyses were performed using ANSYS, as well as physical testing.
